Description: The “Nuova 500 D” model was introduced in 1960 (starting from chassis number 182001). It was produced until 1965, with 640,520 units built. The primary difference of the Fiat Nuova 500 D lies in the engine, which was once again upgraded and increased in size. The displacement increased from 479 cc to 499.5 cc—the same as the Sport—but with an output of 17.5 hp (1 hp more than the T.a version). As with the engine, the chassis designation also changed to 110D.000. The Fiat Nuova 500 D finally managed to satisfy those who had reservations about previous versions, particularly regarding comfort features and accessories. Although the modifications to the D were relatively minor compared to the 1959 “Tetto Apribile” (Sunroof) model, the public welcomed them with great enthusiasm; these changes were the final touch that perfected the already solid ’59 version and finally secured the 500’s well-deserved success after three years. This specific example we are offering was purchased and fully restored by us. It was located in Marsala, in the province of Trapani, from 1963 to 2022. Available for sale as of today.
