Description: In 1965, the new Fiat 500 F was introduced, successor to the Fiat 500 D, which became the best-selling version among all Cinquecento models produced. The 500 F is distinguished by the transition to forward-hinged doors (eliminating “suicide doors”) and simplified chrome trim compared to the previous D version. The design retained the classic lines, but with improvements such as a wider windscreen, the rear roof integrated into the moulding, and new push-button handles. The interior was simple, with clear round instrumentation and, from 1968, solid-colour upholstery. Externally, the F version saw a reduction in chrome trim compared to the previous series, with the use of plastic for certain details such as the number plate light from 1966. The 500 F represented the definitive establishment of the Italian economy car, with over 2 million units produced between the F and L series.
