Description: In order to provide its economy cars with a sporty image, NSU commissioned the Bertone coachbuilder to design a sporty version of the Prinz model. The design was entrusted to Franco Scaglione, who managed to achieve, despite the small dimensions, a balanced sporty line that suggested a vague resemblance to the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint, created by the same designer. The prototype, which corresponded almost entirely to the final car, was completed in July 1958. After some detailed modifications, the press presentation took place in September of the same year, while the following month the car was unveiled as a world premiere at the Paris Motor Show. This example offered by us has recently been fully restored, featuring its original red color.
